Welcome to rossy.org.uk. You may have noticed a change in direction of the site - This new site is going to cover the building of my Peugeot 205 track car. So take a look around. I'll put a gallery up as soon as I work out how to make one too :-)
Latest Updates
October 2008 Getting the car ready for the MOT now. The 106 Rallye wheels have been painted and I've put some 185\55R14 Kumho Ecsta on them and they are on the car. The rear seems to sit a little high at the moment, but my main concern is getting it through the MOT. I've also given the car a good clean and polish! Pics here 26th October 2008 Summer 2008 The engine runs!! The ECU loom needs finishing off and tidying up and the ECU needs mounting properly in the car. See the gallery for more pics. Fuel and brake pipes have been installed and the braking system filled with DOT 5.1 fluid. The rear axle has also had a full rebuild along with the addition of GTi torsion bars (18.9mm)
March 2008 Update The engine and gearbox are in and I've started to wire up the new ECU loom. Also installed Grp N rear beam mounts onto the rear axle 16 March 2008 December 2007 Update The front struts are built and about to go on the car; the car will be back on 4 wheels for the first time in several months. I'll soon be able to remove the rear axle and start refurbishing the rear of the car. Minor updates made to gallery pages. 1 December 2007 November 2007 Update Work is slowly progressing, I've got the majority of the front suspension compnents, I just need to put them all together and then install onto the car which will then become a rolling shell. Suspension spec page added to website here 20 November
2007 October 2007 Update General re-organisation of the site. Minor updates to the gallery pages 3 October
2007 September 2007 Update 2 Started to sort out the ever increasing amount of images into a basic gallery system. Work on the car is progressing, I've mounted the new GTi subframe and started putting the front end back together! 23 September 2007 September 2007 Update 1 I've started stripping out the front end of the 205, removing the engine (Cheers Terry!) treating the rusty bits (hardly any and it's all minor surface rust!) The engine is out, front suspension in the process of coming out. Pictures in the gallery here 8 September
2007 August 2007 Update The 205 will be arriving at its new home shortly, so work on the car can commence!! I've got a full GTi subframe to go in with anti-roll bar but have yet to decide on a suspension setup... Any hints?!? The engine is built, all it needs now is the ancillaries putting back on. Pictures of the engine are here 5 August 2007 July 2007 Update The bottom end is now finished, sump is on and sealed up. The head is also finished, just need to get a stand for my DTI so I can time find TDC before I bolt the head on. Some pictures of the head with its new SS 4-2-1 manifold on can be found here 10 July 2007 June 2007 Update (2) Engine Update:: I have finished building the head, cam is in, valves etc all in and the vernier attached. I have also refitted the crankshaft into the block with new bearings. Endfloat is still within spec even with the old thrust washers! Pics here 16 June 2007 June 2007 Update (1) Engine Update:: The engine has come back from QEP, unfortunatly the compression ratio is unchanged (10.2:1) as there was no leway for machining with my camshaft spec. I have now finalised the "Phase 1" engine build. See menu on left. More pictures added to collection, see here 9 June 2007 May 2007 Update TU Camshaft Specs:: Can be found here Engine Update:: The block, head pistons and crank are now with Matt at QEP who is going to raise the compression ratio to about 11 - 11.2:1 by skimming pistons and decking block. I have purchased a CatCams 645 cam and new parts for a rebuild. More to follow.... 28 May 2007 Latest News Redesigned site uploaded - No content as of yet but I'll put some up when I get around to it! Engine Strip down - I took the sump off the block and removed No.4 Piston, you can see it here 17 March 2007 |
